Robert Charles "Beanie" Williamson Sr., 85, formerly of 1158 Luther Drive, Hagerstown, Md., died Friday, april 17, 2009, at the home of his daughter.
Born Feb 5, 1924, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Hilbert C and Julia M Templon Williamson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline D Williamson, in 1967,
He served in the U S Army, Technician Fourth Grade, in the HQ and SVCO 1878 Engineer Aviation Battalion from February 1943 through January 1946 in the Southwest Pacific Theater of Operations.
He retired in 1986 from Western Maryland Railway after 44 years of service.
He was a member of AARP, Western Maryland Railway Old Timers Club and the Williamsport Red Men 84.
He is survived by one daughter, Beverly A Summers of Waynesboro, Pa.; two sons, Robert C Williamson, Jr. of Hagerstown and Curtis R Williamson; one stepdaughter, Victoria L Spreecher; one stepson, Gary A Brown; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister. Margaret Kershner.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesdasy at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania, Hagerstown. The Rev. C Michael Henning will officiate. Military honors will be provided at the cemetery by American Legion Post 42.
