At a Red Wing hospital on March 8th occurred the death of Mrs. Fred Kautz, of Cannon Falls,a daughter of Oluf Stav, of Hayfield, at the age of 43 years. She was ill only a few days.
She was born April 4th, 1891, near Hayfield, her parents, being Mr. and Mrs. Oluf Stav, and was confirmed at Cedar Creek Lutheran church by Rev. Jens Roseland in 1906. She was married Feb. 29th, 1912, to Fred Kautz, who with ten children, survives her.
Following her marriage, she and her husband made their home in Dodge county for four years, after which they moved to Hallock, Minn., where they remained five years, they then moved to Cannon Falls, where they have resided since.
Besides her husband and children, six boys and four girls, she is survived by her father, Oluf Stav, of Hayfield, three brothers and one sister, who are Martin Stav, of Dalton, Wis.; Odin Stav, of Cannon Falls; John Stav, of Madison Minn. The sister is Mrs. O.T. Knutson of Elkader Iowa. The children are Mildred, Harold, Leonard, Viola, Frederick, Ralph, Robert, Dorothy, Floyd and Joan.
Funeral services were held from Trinity church Tuesday afternoon, with Rev. Johnson officiating and interment was made at Fairview cemetery. Pallbearers were Messre. John Iverson, Siegard Stav an Ordean Stav, all of Cannon Falls, Paul Kautz of West Concord, Otto Kautz of West Concord and M. S. Kautz, of Eyota.
A large number of sorrowing relatives and friends were present at the church to pay a last tribute of affection and esteem to the departed.
