Charlotte died from nervous fever.

Charlotte (maiden name unknown) was born about 1799
She first married Burlison (possibly James) abt 1820-23
They had 4 verified children:
James Burlison (1824-1906) m. 1845 Matilda B Manning - Obituary shows birth year 1828. 1900 census shows specifically Apr 1826. Headstone shows 1824.
Silas J Burlison (1832-1877) m. 1853 Amandana W Adams
Thomas Burlison (1838- )
Eliza Ann Burlison (1842-1925) m. 1856 Lucius Aley

James & Silas were born in New York, Thomas and Eliza were born in Ohio. With this information I think we can safely say the family relocated from New York to Ohio between 1832 & 1838.

It is presumed that Burlison died prior to 1850.
Charlotte is found with 3 of her children; Silas, Thomas, and Eliza, in the 1850 census taken in Brooklyn, Cuyahoga County, Ohio without a husband. Unfortunately the 1850 census does not designate if someone is widowed, divorced, etc.

Charlotte married Orsmus Meacham 5 Jul 1852 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio and at some point they relocated to Michigan where Orsmus died May 1870 in Calhoun County, Michigan.

Charlotte can be found shortly after the death of her husband in the 1870 census dated 2 Aug 1870 at the home of her daughter, Eliza (Burlison) Aley in Marengo, Calhoun County, Michigan. It is possible this was a multi-generational home that already included Charlotte and Orsmus. I have not been able to find any further information to verify this.

I can find no record of her death and will assume the dates given here on Find A Grave, including cause of death, originated with cemetery records and/or headstone inscription. Charlotte appears to have died only 3 months after her son Silas.

If anyone has anything further to add on Charlotte, please send a message.
