James Gleason born Co. Tipperary Ireland. Enlisted as Q.M. Nov. 1st.1861 for three years. Promoted to Q.M. May 1st 1862. To Asst. Q.M. U.S.V. April 7th 1863. Was presented with a sword by his fellow officers and friends 30th May 1863 to mark his appointment to brigade Q.M. in the Army of the Potomac. Died young aged 47 Dec.28th 1870. Buried Oak Hill Cem.
