Rev. Dwayne Long, 45, passed away at his residence Monday
(April 12, 2004).
A lifelong resident of Lee County, he was a minister, contractor, and a farmer. He was a member of the Arthurs Chapel Church of Rose Hill.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Austin Long.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Long of Rose Hill; his mother, Barbara Ann Long of Rose Hill; two sons, Richard and wife Stephanie Long of Fort Payne, Ala., Matthew Wayne Long, of the home; three daughters, April Golden and husband Chris of Rose Hill, Brittney Long and Emily Long, of the home; two grandchildren, Andrew and Morgan; one brother, Mark Long and wife Darla of Maynardville, Tenn.; three sisters, Angela Taylor, Karen McLain and husband
Keith, Marsha Collins and husband Dana, all of Rose Hill.
The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. today at Arthurs Chapel Church.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Ronnie Hoskins, the Rev. Keith McLain, the Rev. Wendall Bates, the Rev. Gary Long and the Rev. Doug Daniels officiating.
Burial will follow in the Daniels Cemetery in Rose Hill, Va.
