Mrs. Worthy was a homemaker and an active member of Greater St. John Church of God in Christ.
Those left to mourn her passing include two daughters, Maggie Mae Powels and Rosezetta Kimbrough both of Las Cruces; two sisters, Sarah Benson of Flint, Michigan and Rebecca Wright of Greenville, Mississippi. Other survivors include 8 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 27 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Worthy.
A visitation will be held from 6 PM to 8 PM, Thursday, January 19, 2012 in Great St. John Church of God in Christ, 1615 N. Mesquite Street. The Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM, Friday, January 20, 2012 in the same church with Elder C. Bell officiating. Concluding Service and Interment will follow in Masonic Cemetery where she will be laid to rest. Serving as casket bearers will be David, Curtis, Darion and Willy Powels, Anthony Oveide, and Curtis Garner. Entrusted to Baca's Funeral Chapels of Las Cruces.
