Merle Buck Shiflett, 92, of Bandera, passed away Monday, April 7, 1997 at a local care center. She was born March 22, 1905 in Bandera County to Dan and Emma Dorow Buck. She was a homemaker and was of the Church of Christ faith.
Survivors include: two daughters, Lorene Talley of Sparks, Nevada and Trina Scott of New Braunfels; one son, Don Fitzgerald of Bandera two brothers, Earl Buck of Pipe Creek and Graydon Buck of New Braunfels; six grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by son Richard "Cotton" Fitzgerald in 1989 and brother Olan Buck.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9 at Grimes Chapel with Mr. Martin Smith officiating. A private family interment will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Family Hospice, 520 Water St., Suite 104, Kerrville, Texas, 78028.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Grimes Funeral Chapel of Bandera.
