Hannah Joan Lentz was a daughter of John Henry Lentz and Sevilla Helsey. She married Jonathan Davalt Spiegel on August 1, 1803 in Lincoln County, North Carolina. She, her husband, children and the Lentz family migrated to North Alabama about 1815 and finally settled in Lauderdale/Limestone County about 1818. Hannah Joan and two of her sisters, Ann Mary and Barbara married three Spiegel brothers, Hannah to Jonathan Davalt, Ann Mary to Johannes Martin and later Daniel Jacob, and Barbara to Daniel Jacob. Most of Hannah and Jonathan Davalt's children continued to migrate west to Arkansas, Texas and California. Hannah's husband Jonathan Davalt (David) Spiegel is buried in the Miller Family Cemetery in Lauderdale County, Alabama.
