Frederick B. Hunt, 77, vice president of Dewey Portland Cement Company, died Saturday at his home at 201 North First Avenue following a short illness.
Services were held today at Trinity Episcopal Church, with burial at Memory Gardens. George L. Gay Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hunt was born Feb. 22, 1895, in Trenton, N.J., the son of Davis and Eliza Henry Hunt. He graduated from Lafayette College in Easton, Pa., and the U.S. Naval Academy.
He married Evalyn Leidy Sept. 29, 1917, at Easton. He was a 32nd degree Mason, Rotarian and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. He retired and came to Iowa City in 1972.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Maurice (Janet) Van Allen of Iowa City; a son, Fred of Davenport; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Davis Hunt of Midwest City, Okla., and a sister, Bessie Hunt of Trenton, N.J.
