Bio

I'm a native Iowan and I'm very passionate about my family, genealogy, cemeteries and preserving history. I started researching my genealogy in 2017. I believe we are everything because of our ancestors. We wouldn't be here today because of them, and we owe it to them to remember their lives and honor them in this way. Researching my genealogy progressed to not only photographing my ancestors graves, but also cemeteries in my area. As of 2022, I also work to clean, restore and preserve veteran headstones. I have also worked to coordinate getting veterans graves who are unmarked free veteran headstones provided by the government. I believe everyone's life, to an extent, should be remembered. That is why I pay it forward this way.

If I'm not related and you ask for a transfer because you are related in some way, then I will transfer. I have had my own experiences with Find a Grave members refusing to transfer any memorials, even if I am related. I feel this totally demeans the site, as you are refusing to let family members take part in their ancestors memorial pages, and not helping others which this site is all about. I feel this website is for sharing and caring...not hoarding and holding.

On my travels around the United States, I photograph cemeteries in those areas if I have the time. I have photographed cemeteries in Colma and Sebastopol, California; Arlington, Virginia; Gettysburg and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and around the Midwest.

Our family pet passed in December of 2021. If you have the time, a flower for her would be greatly appreciated! Sally
