W.E. Burnes' Niece Dies At Elk City Hospital
Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Burnes were called to Elk City Monday on account of the death of a niece Mrs. J. Graham Whittenberg, who died at the Elk City Community hospital after an illness of two months. Burial took place Tuesday at Hammond, Okla., home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M.B. Burnes who with the husband, five brothers and three sisters survive.
Sarah Burnes was born at the Indian Rainy Mountain school, Kiowa county, June 9, 1914. She was converted, baptised and a member of the First Baptist church of Carnegie. She formerly lived north of Mountain View and two years ago visited several months with her uncle here.
She was united in marriage to Jetherio Graham Whittenberg at Hobart, Okla. October 8, 1932. At the time of her illness she with her husband was living at Reydon, Okla.
Surviving brothers and sisters are Mary, Collen, Chester, Bernice, Ross, and Christeen, all of Hammond, and James Paul and David Roy of Syracuse, N.Y.
