William Melvin Preston, 55 years old, of 216 South-ave., died at 4:45 a.m. Monday at the Hospital of the Good Shepherd. Mr. Preston was born at DeRuyter and for the past 20 years served as shipping clerk and bookkeeper at the E. C. Stearns plant. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Carrie E.; one daughter, Mrs. Lucius H. Gridley; two brothers, Charles H. of this city, and Albert C. of Rochester; and three sisters, Mrs. Ella M. Wheeler and Mrs. George O. White of this city and Mrs. Erastus Upham of Duluth, Minn. The funeral will be held from the home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with burial at Oakwood.
