Born in Oxford, Mrs. Ales was the widow of Mr. Philip Ales. Before retiring to Oxford, she and her husband lived in Oak Hill, IL where they owned a small general store. Mrs. Ales enjoyed going to flea markets where she and her husband sold antique glassware and tools. Following his death, she enjoyed selling lace and her handmade quilts. On vacations and holidays, Mrs. Ales enjoyed the company of her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Russell and her husband, Bill of Horn Lake, MS; two sons, Mike Ales and his wife, Kim of Houston, TX and Lee Ales and his wife, Theresa of Oconomoc, WI; two sisters, Lamoin Cain of Meridian, MS and Mildred Harwell of Oxford; two brothers, Byron Bland of Olive Branch, MS and Billy Ray Bland of Tuscaloosa, AL and eight grandchildren.
