Wilson Harris Register, 56, of Palatka, died surrounded by his family, Sunday, May 6, 2007 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care center in Palatka.

He was a lifelong resident of Putnam County, first living in Palatka and later in Bardin. He was a 1969 graduate of Palatka Senior High School and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. He was employed by the Georgia-Pacific Corp. for the past 34 years, where he was a supervisor in the chip mill in Palatka. He was a member of Union Local 30 in Palatka and he enjoyed archery, hunting and fishing. He was a Baptist and had attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Jenny Register; three brothers, Leroy Register, Mickey Register and S. M. Register; and one sister, Mary Lou Register.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Gail Register of Bardin; one son, Randy Register of Bardin; four brothers and sisters-in-law, J. B. Register of Hastings, Rev. Melvin and Grace Register of Bardin, Russell Eugene and Cherie Register of Francis, and Jerry Carlton and Debi Register of Hollister; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Mattie Perl Stevens of East Palatka, Lela Mason of Welaka, Ruby and Henry Dykes of of Georgetown, Verna Lee and Claude Brazzeal of Francis, and Delores Ann and Edward Houck of Alabama; his parents-in-law, Eugene "Judge" and Doris Daniels of Palatka; one brother-in-law, Jack Daniels of Jacksonville; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be Thursday, may 10l 2007 at Sharon Cemetery near Green Cove Springs with Rev. Melvin Register and Elder Jerry Hawkins officiating.

Masters Funeral Home in Palatka is handling arrangements.
