Christopher Aguiar, 33, of 39 Benefit St., formerly of 232 Black Plain Rd., North Smithfield, was found shot to death Sunday in Lincoln.

The victim was discovered by two men off a dirt road leading to the Cournoyer junkyard.

Det. Lt. James Wood said Aguiar died of two gunshots to the head, both fired at close range. He said one bullet struck behind the left ear and the other in the right cheek.

Wood said Aguiar was last seen alive at 7 p.m. Saturday in Pawtucket, where he lived for the last few months. The detective said Aguiar apparently had no criminal record. So far, there are no suspects, he said.

Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of Joseph C. and Florence E. (Ferrier) Aguiar, both of North Smithfield.

He was last employed at J. S. Creations, a jewelry firm in Providence. Previously, he was employed at Tech Industries in Woonsocket as a maintenance man.

He was a Navy veteran, and a member of the Fairmount Post 85, American Legion, Woonsocket.

Besides his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Aguiar of San Diego, Calif.; two brothers, Joseph Aguiar of Providence and Donald Aguiar of North Smithfield, and his grandfather, Jose Aguiar of North Smithfield.

The funeral will be held Wednesday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 6in St. John's Chruch, Church Street, Slatersville. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
