Frances's family immigrated to Minnesota in circa 1850. Her father was the first "Clockmaker" in downtown St. Paul,Mn
~ Frances married Hayden march Jones and they had five children. The moved to West Troup, Georgia and then to Grenada, Mississippi. It is speculated that the family moved the Grenada for Hayden to find work post Civil War.
~ Her husband Hayden died of yellow fever August of 1878, leaving Frances with her five young children. Frances stayed in Mississippi for a few months. She got her five children baptized at the Episcopalian Church and then headed north via train to be with her parents and her brothers and sisters.
~ While Frances was in St. Paul, she was listed in the phone book and was a dressmaker. You can see by the family photographs that her dresses appear to be homemade, which, by speculation, it may be safe to assume, that Frances made these dresses for herself.
~ While living in Minnesota, Frances married William Silcox who was a lithographer in St. Paul. They went on to mother three more children for a total of 8 children for Frances.
Frances died at 11:00 P.M. ,at the age of 60, of heart valve problems. She left behind her second husband William and 7 children. Her funeral was officiated by Rev. Pastor Pinkam He was the rector of the Church of the Ascension in St. Paul, MN
