Hayden March Jones was the husband of Frances Jennie Illingworth. Hayden was a soldier in the Confederate Army in the Civil War. He was captured by the Union Army and was a POW in Camp Chase in Ohio. He had to sign a Pledge of Allegience to the Union and was released.

After the Civil War, Hayden became a Silversmith. William Henry Illingworth( his future brother-in-law was down south for unknown reason. The two men met here, and William invited Hayden to come back to St. Paul, Minnesota with him. Hayden accepted the invitation, and it was here, in St. Paul, that he met and married William's younger sister : Frances Jenny Illingworth and married her in St. Paul, Ramsey County.
They had there first two children Fannie Ruth and Sarah Alice in St.Paul.

The family then moved to West Pointe, Troup County, Georgia where they had three more children, Hugh March, William Hayden and Mary Crawford.

The family then moved to Grenada, Mississippi where Hayden worked as a Mason and they had their last child Ida May. Yellow Fever was sweeping Grenada that summer and over 1000 people died, and Hayden was one of the casualties of Yellow Fever. Hayden was buried in an unmarked grave in "Yellow Fever Cemetery/ also called the R/R, railroad Cemetery" in Grenada , Mississippi. It was called the R/R " Railroad Cemetery before the Yellow Fever Cemetery, as, it was located on the line of the railroad in Grenada.
Six days after Hayden's death, Frances called the Rector Green from "All Saints Episcopal Church" of Grenada to her home and had all of her children baptized together. At some point Frances moved with children back to St. Paul,Mn. to be close to her brothers and sisters.

Hayden March Jones was named after his uncle , his mothers brother " Colonel Hayden March Jones.

I have traveled To Granada , Mississippi to the Yellow Fever Cemetery. There is no marker for Hayden Jones. I did check the Episcopal Church records and he is recorded as being buried in this cemetery.
