Pauline K. Spencer-Tilley, age 85, passed away at 7:50 p.m. on Jan. 12, 2012, at a local nursing home after a long illness.

Pauline was born on April 25, 1926, in Dutch Mills, Ark., daughter of the late Emrie and Jenny Jordan of Golden City, Mo. She had lived in the Joplin-Webb City area most of her adult life.

Pauline married Harley W. Spencer on Oct. 16, 1943 and he preceded her in death on Aug. 23, 1973.

Pauline married Jess Tilley in May, 1974, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 2008.

Pauline was a supervisor at the Safeway Bakery in Joplin, Mo. until she retired in 1974.

Pauline was a member of the First Baptist Church of Webb City, Mo. and enjoyed working with the quilting group. She was head of the bereavement committee for several years; member of the Esther Sunday School Class and also volunteered at Crosslines of Joplin.

In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by three brothers, Melvin and Kenneth Jordan of Golden City and Venson Jordan of Joplin; four sisters, Clara Porter of Jasper, Mo., Audrey Culton of Joplin, Marie Aton of Golden City and Doris Sooter of Joplin; and a sister-in-law, Marjorie Spencer of Lockwood, Mo.

Pauline is survived by her son, Lt. Col (Retired) Dean Spencer, US Air Force and wife, Jackie, of Gilbert, Ariz.; two daughters, Carol Cole and husband, Dick, of Joplin and Connie Joines and husband, David, of Webb City; six grandchildren, DeAnn Jones of Joplin, Tim Spencer of Sacramento, Calif., Teresa McKinnis and husband, Bob, of Republic, Mo., Jaime Spencer of Sacramento, Justin Joines of Webb City, Brandon Joines and wife, Cortney, of Republic; seven great-grandchildren, Natausha Kentch and husband, S Sgt Shawn Kentch, US Air Force, Whiteman AFB, Mo., Chase Jones and wife, Shelby, of Fulton, Mo., Stephanie Blevins and husband, Chad, of Republic, Leslie McKinnis of Republic, Morgan Jones of Joplin, Kayleigh Joines of Webb City and Connor Joines of Webb City, and three great-great-grandchildren, Emily Kathryn Kentch, Sarah Elizabeth Kentch and Madalynn Grace Reynolds.

The family wishes to thank Seneca House, Seneca, Mo. for the care, love, compassion and dedication shown to Pauline in the last years of her life.

Funeral services are planned for Monday at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Webb City. Rev. Bob Easton will officiate. Interment will follow in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Justin Joines, Brandon Joines, Chase Jones, Chad Blevins, Bob McKinnis and Shawn Kentch. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 3 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel.

Contributions in memory of Pauline may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Southwest Missouri.
