Died, at her residence, near Lowry City, Thursday, March 2nd, 1882, Mrs. Catherine Walker, aged 65 years, 9 months and 5 days.

The deceased was born in Maryland, but moved to Ohio in an early day where she lived until her marriage to Alexander Walker. She made a profession of religion near 40 years ago, joined the Christian church and was baptized in the Wabash river under the preaching of Elder Moses McDaniel. In 1856 she came with her family to this county, where she has lived ever since. She and her husband, known as Judge Walker, were among the early pioneers of this county. They braved the trials and tribulations of a pioneer life in raising a family of ten children, five of whom with the husband and father had passed on before, while three brothers and two sisters remain to mourn their loss. She was a kind and affectionate mother, an exemplary Christian, a kind hearted and sympathizing friend and neighbor and will be greatly missed in the family, church and community.

Funeral service conducted by Rev. Joel Myers, took at the residence, Saturday, march 4th, and her remains were attended to their last resting place by a large concourse of people.
