Miss Lois Moody of 115 Weimer Street, died Thursday. Born in Bamberg County, she was a daughter of the late John and Rebecca Anna Sanders Moody. She retired from Bamberg Textile Mills and was a member of Main Street Methodist Church, serving as a pianist for 50 years. Surviving are a sister, Mrs Gertrude Worsham of Simpsonville, and a brother, Willie L Moody of Orangeburg. Services will be held at 3 PM at Cooner Funeral Home, with burial in South End Cemetery.
Lois lived all her life in Bamberg. She was the only one of her sisters to graduate from high school; the others dropped out of school to go to work. Lois was married for a short period of time. She played the piano for Main Street Methodist for years, and when she died, she willed her piano to the church.
