Lydia, the second daughter and third of nine children of Joseph Emmett Patterson and Lydia Marean (should be Mareau) was born on 16 December 1745 at Watertown, Middlesex, Massachusetts. Lydia married as his second wife Massachusetts Patriot David Pixley, the son of David and Mary Abigail (Cooper) Pixley say 1774 at Stockbridge, Berkshire, Massachusetts. They had two children born at Stockbridge:
1. Amos Pixley (b. 1775; d. 1807), m. 1795 at Owego, NY, Betsey Wood (1780-)
2. Mary Ann Pixley (b. 11 May 1777; d. 4 Jun 1848, Owego, NY), m. 1) Dr. Samuel Tinkham (1769-1804); m. 2) on 7 Apr 1805 at Owego, NY, James Pumpelly (1775-1845)
Lydia's husband, David, was one of the early settlers of Owego, New York. He brought Lydia and his three children, David from his first marriage, and Amos and Mary in 1790 during the time of this early settlement. Lydia (Patterson) Pixley died on 2 February 1808 in her 67th year at Owego, and is buried in the Presbyterian Church Burying Ground at Owego, Tioga, New York.
