Dr. and Mrs. Bishop had six children, three of whom died in infancy. Grady, Hubert and Stella Bishop Wiseman grew up in Hartley County.

Prominent Plains Doctor Succumbs
Dr. R.P. Bishop, 68 years old, of Channing, died in an Amarillo hospital at 10:30 o'clock Monday night.
Dr. Bishop was a well known physician of the Plains for more than 20 years. He had many friends in Amarillo.
Funeral services are planned at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the Methodist Church in Channing Rev. Horace Brooks, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in the Channing cemetery near the grave of his wife, who died in June this year. The Peeples Funeral Home of Dalhart will be in charge of arrangements.
Dr. Bishop resided at Panhandle from 1914 to 1916 before moving to Channing. He served as county health officer for Hartley County for many years and was local physician for the Denver railway in Channing. Dr. Bishop retired from active practice about five years ago.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Roscoe Wiseman of Hartley, and two sons, Grady Bishop of Dallas and Hubert Bishop of Channing.
