The Southern Illinoisan Sunday, January 18, 1959 Mrs. Lizzie Bowyer, 63, Rt. 1, West Frankfort, died at 2 p. m. Friday in Union Hospital, after a ten-day illiness. Mrs. Bowyer was born in Franklin County. She was a member of East Fork Baptist Church. She leaves her husband, W.T. "Buck" Bowyer; children, Mrs. Elsie Mae Sowers, West Frankfort; Ernest Whittington, Kalamozoo, Mich.; Stanley Whittington, Ft. Smith, Ark.; Cecil Whittington, Otterbin, Ind,; stepsons Lebron and Lloyd Bowyer, West Frankfort; nine grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p. m. at East Fork Baptist Church, with the Rev. Silas Morgan, chaplain of Menard Penitentiary (sic. ) officiating. Burial will be in East Fork Cemetery. Friends may call at Walker Funeral Home.
