Matilde Rodriguez died December 16 at a local convalescent hospital. He was 81. Born March 14, 1908 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, he lived in the county 36 years and was a resident of National City.
He was a maintenance worker for Weber's Bakery. Survivors include his wife Jessie, sons Daniel and Martin both of National City, Manuel of San Diego and Gabriel of Chula Vista, daughters, Leonor R. Arreola, Andrea Rodriguez, of Chula Vista, Ma.Regina Rodriguez and Barbara Martinez both of National City; sisters, Cirila Pena, Romana Arenas, and Engracia Perez of San Diego, Julia Montoya of Hemet, CA. and Pauline Knauer of Lemon Grove; 14 grandchildren and one great grandson.
Mass was Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church where he was a member, with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Berge-Roberts Mortuary.
