Aged: 73y 2m 28d.

Married first to Jacob Famulener, then to Jethro Jamison Cowan. Took out a marriage license on Sept. 17, 1866 with a Wm. E. Henry, but they were not actually married.

Note: Per SAC information and a search on FamilySearch, the marriage between Jacob Famulener and Nancy Mitchell (under her maiden name) took place on November 20, 1825 in Pickaway county, Ohio (reportedly marriage record # 8203). This information is found in listings of Ohio marriages, 1800-1958. It should be noted that a "Mitchell Family Tree" on Ancestry lists the marriage as being on Nov. 17, 1817, but that would have the ages of Jacob and Nancy far too young to be reasonable, so that information should be viewed and used with extreme caution, if not discounted entirely. Thanks to "Goldenthreads" for providing the Ohio marriage information that does appear to be accurate.

OBITUARY

COWAN.- Tuesday, May 11, 1875, in Libertyville, Iowa, of Consumption, Mrs. Nancy Cowan, wife of J. J. Cowan, aged 73 years, 2 months and 28 days.

There beyond the golden river,
There with angels she will wait;
She will welcome home her children,
Standing near the golden gate.

There her children and friends will meet her,
There will every child of God
Join the everlasting greeting,
Whom the way have safely trod.
