Son of Jacob Famulener and Nancy Mitchell Famulener.

Husband of Mariah Ann Malone, married on April 16, 1857 in Jefferson county, Iowa. She remarried on January 24, 1867 to a Charles Hiram Jackson. Note: spouse link to Maria (a/k/a Mariah) made on February 16, 2016.

James died (of disease) during the Civil War at Memphis, TN., was returned to Fell Cemetery for burial. He was part of 30th Iowa Inf. Co. H. Enlisted Aug. 12, 1862. Mustered Sept. 14, 1862. Died of disease April 6 (possibly the 7th), 1863.

Note: there is another memorial for James by another contributor, but it is not for where he was buried.
