Mrs. Bertha Davis of Hamilton, died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Galesburg State Research Hospital in Galesburg, Ill., where she had been a patient since October 23, 1965.
She had been a resident of Keokuk 20 years before moving to Hamilton several years ago.
Mrs. Davis was born October 1, 1884 in Hartford, Kentucky, the daughter of Joe and Lillie Miller Baird.
On July 31, 1905 she married David S. Davis in Hartford, Kentucky.
She is survived by: one daughter Mrs. John (Lillie) Vermeesch of Keokuk; one son David L. Davis of Hamilton; two half-sisters Mrs. Ada Bryant of St. Louis and Mrs. Ray (Vina) Hocker of Kentucky; a half brother Eligia Ford of McHenry, Kentucky; 20 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by: her husband in 1941; a son Earl Jan. 21, 1964; a sister, three half-brothers and two half-sisters.
Funeral service will be held at 1:30 Friday in Schmidt Memorial Home with the Rev. B.L. Sweeney officiating. Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Gardens.
