Lorus Alonzo Heffron was born February 19, 1915 in El Reno to Frank A. and Eunice Elizabeth (Dillingham) Heffron. He passed from this life January 10, 2012 in Antlers at the age of 96. Larry served his country in the United States Navy toward the end of World War II. He met his first wife, Betty, on January 11, 1946 and they married shortly thereafter. They remained happily married until her passing in 1987. He then married Irene Mathis in 1993, and they were married until her passing in 2001. Larry enjoyed traveling, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. Larry was a devoted husband. He will be greatly missed by his family and those who knew him. Larry was preceded in death by his parents: Frank & Eunice Heffron; first wife: Betty Heffron; her daughter: Pat Montgomery; second wife: Irene Heffron; brother: Glen Heffron; sister: Viola Barnhill; stepbrothers: R.H. Every & Lloyd Every; stepsister: Jessie (Every) Pyron. He is survived by his great-nephew: Jason Barnhill & wife Amy and their children Spencer & Addison of Edmond; great-nieces: Sarah Mosley & husband Chuck and their children Luke, Samuel, & Jonah of Oklahoma City; Kristi Walker & children Jacob, Elizabeth Anne, & Ian of Oklahoma City; niece: Carol Barnhill of Yukon; stepchildren: Bill Randall & wife Karla and their children Ashley & Scott Jones, Chelsie Grigg & husband Jason, & Aaron Randall, as well as Doug Randall and children Jonni V, and Mitchell all of Oklahoma City; step-grandchildren: Scott & Laurie Montgomery and children Wesley Scott & wife Laurene, Chelsea and Sharon of CA. The family would like to express their gratitude to Angie and Kathy for the thoughtful and loving care they gave Larry during his last few years. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Mills & Coffey Chapel in Antlers with Reverend Aaron Reed officiating. Music was Special Music by Amy Barnhill. Pallbearers included Jason Barnhill, Chuck Mosley, Earl Jones, Bill Randall, & Doug Randall. Interment followed at Antlers City Cemetery.
