HEFFRON T. "Irene" Mathis Randall Heffron passed away peacefully Sept. 30, 2001, after a long battle with breast cancer. Funeral services will be at the New Covenant Christian Church, 12000 N. Rockwell, Okla. City, OK at 3 p.m. Oct. 2, 2001 with Rev. Tim Pool officiating. Irene was born April 11, 1921 to James and Ida Mathis who precede her in death. Irene was raised on a farm in Arkansas. She moved to Cleveland, Ohio during WWII , was a dental hygenIst for a time and married Fred Randall, a Navy pilot. She had two sons, Douglas and William. In 1961 she moved to Oklahoma with her sons, later married Dr. Paul C. Grimes who died in a car wreck in 1969. Irene retired as a private duty nurse and married Lorus Heffron in 1993. Her years with Lorus were her happiest traveling and sharing their lives together. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Irene is survived by her husband Lorus, sons Bill and Doug Randall and one brother, Noble Deathe rage, 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews of which she was very proud. Among them the original Mathis Brothers, Don, Bud and Ray. She is preceded in death by husbands Fred and Paul, a son Ricky, brothers Dave, Bill, Homer, Roy, Noble and sisters Anna, Pearl , Rhoda and Tessie, and nephew Wayne of the original Mathis Brothers. Irene never met a stranger and was a good friend to a great many people and we will all miss her warmth, charm and abundant love.
