Ms. Stone was born June 3, 1944, in Portland. She went to high school in California and later earned a bachelor's degree in math from Oregon State University. She worked in a law office in San Diego, where she lived most of her life. She returned to Portland two years ago. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.

Survivors include her sons, Brian Boennighausen and Kirk Boennighausen; mother, Betty Stone; and sister, Virginia Ahrens.

Disposition is by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to the American Cancer Society.
