BREMEN -- Kathleen E. Sherk, 81, of 316 Woodies Lane, died at 12:25 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 28, 2007) in Bremen Community Hospital.
She was born July 15, 1925, in Wakarusa, to Henry and Marie (Ellis) Wirt. She married Dale J. Sherk on Dec. 31, 1943, in Bremen.
He survives along with a daughter, Linda (James) Moore of New Buffalo, Mich.; a son, Kevin Sherk (Rosalie Thacker) of Bremen; a grandchild; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Josephine Bowlby of Elkhart.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa, and a sister, Avanelle Boorda.
A memorial service and burial in Olive West Cemetery in Wakarusa will take place at a later date. Rieth Rohrer Ehret Lienhart Funeral Home, 117 W. Waterford St., Wakarusa, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Sherk was a 1943 Madison Township High School graduate and worked for several Bremen businesses as a secretary. She retired in 1978 from the former Corl Corp.
She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Woodland.
