Samuel Ridge, a well known and highly respected citizen, died at his home in Jefferson, Monday morning, March 9, aged 49 years after a few days' illness of pneumonia. Mr. Ridges was a member of the Rices LandingMethodist Episcopal church and an honest, upright man. Besides his wife three daughters and one son survive Misses Grace, Frances and Anna and John Ridge, all at home. The son is also seriously ill with pneumonia. Two sisters survive also, Mrs. Fordyce Crago and miss Catherine Ridge of Sigsbee, this county. The funeral services were held on Wednesday at 1 o'clock in the Hewitt Presbyterian church, conducted by Rev. C.F. King and Rev. John C. McMinn. Interment in the Hewitt cemetery.
