MRS. MARY MAPLES
Mrs. Mary Maples, 84, 941 Michigan, Sturgeon Bay, died Saturday morning at Holy Family Hospital in Manitowoc of old age complications after an illness of one year.
She was born at Institute Nov. 22, 1883 to the late William and Mary Tweedale and lived in Sturgeon Bay all of her life.
She was a charter member of the Christian Mothers and Rosary Society of St. Joseph Catholic church and was also a member of the Women's Catholic Order of Foresters.
She worked for many years for Sadie Ahrens at the news stand.
May 30, 1907 she married John Maples at Institute and he preceded her in death April 1, 1910.
Surviving are two two sons, John, Sturgeon Bay, and James, Green Bay; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one brother, Walter Tweedale, Sturgeon Bay; one niece, Mrs. Grace Hutter, Sturgeon Bay. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and three brothers.
Funeral services were held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Davis Mortuary and 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic church. Burial was Bayside cemetery with the Rev. John Pawelski officiating.
