MORTON - Amy G. Sharum, 98, of Morton passed away the afternoon of Friday, March 29, 2013, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
Amy was born on Jan. 9, 1915, in Handy, Mo., to Harvey and Emily (Greene) Hurt. She married Rastus D. Sharum on Jan. 6, 1934, in Doniphan, Mo. Rastus preceded her in death.
Among those surviving are two sons, Dewitt (Sue) Sharum of Camden, Tenn., and Delbert Homer Sharum of Morton; three daughters, Betty McCuen of Morton, Joyce Lippert of Pekin and Frances (Charles) Seward of East Peoria; one brother, Calvin (Bertha) Hurt of Colorado; two sisters, Della High of Arkansas and Helen Crawford of Missouri; 24 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 25 great-great-grandchildren.
Amy was also preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Partee; granddaughter, Lisa Sharum; and a great-granddaughter, Alexandria Sharum.
Also surviving are several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
Amy was a cook by profession and enjoyed many years at numerous restaurants, including Kramers in Peoria.
She enjoyed sewing crafts and making quilts for her family and friends. Mostly she enjoyed spending time with her large family and traveling to see family and friends. Amy will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends left behind.
Funeral services for Amy will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at 7 p.m. at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Graveside services will be on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Towles Cemetery in Doniphan, Mo.
Memorials for Amy may be directed to the American Cancer Society .
