Born July 12, 1957, in Staunton, he was a son of Homer Thomas Blackwell Sr. and Mary Alice (Weaver) Blackwell.
He was a foreman at Luck Stone Corporation, where he had been employed for 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
On January 18, 1985, he married the former Lisa Lynn Baer, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Beth Nicole Gouthro and husband, Matt, of Lexington; four brothers, Homer T. Blackwell Jr. and fiancee', Nancy, of Waynesboro, Frank C. Blackwell and wife, Debbie, of Churchville, Eddie L. Blackwell and wife, Glenda, of Churchville, and Leonard Harris and wife, Phyllis, of Newburg, Missouri; a sister, Bettie E. Smith of Headwaters; a brother-in-law, Robert L. Smith of Churchville; father -in-law and mother-in-law, Elwood and Juanita Baer of Staunton; and nieces and nephews, Kenton Smith and Katie Townsend, Scott and Brandi Blackwell, all of Churchville, Lana Archer and Judy Turner, both of Missouri; four great -nephews; one great-niece; and a special cousin, Lloyd Coffey and his wife, Peg, of Waynesboro.
A service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, August 21, 2006, at the chapel of Bear Funeral Home officiated by the Rev. Shane Lilly. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Hook Elkins, Barry Gum, Cecil Moats, Larry Hostetter, Randy Snyder, Dickie Harris, Steve Huffer and Doug Conner.
Honorary pallbearers will be co-workers from Luck Stone Corporation and other friends attending the service.
