Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Ann Dark of Colchester, Ill., who died Tuesday, May 21, 1946 at St. Francis hospital, will be held at 2:30 Thursday afternoon at the Colchester Methodist Church. The Rev. Van Alstyne will officiate and burial will be in Mt. Auburn cemetery in Colchester, Illinois.
Coroner Jake Davis will conduct an inquest in her death next Monday night at 8:00 at the Jones mortuary in Colchester. Mrs. Dark fractured her hip several weeks ago in a fall in her home. The following coroner's jury has been empaneled : Damron Fentem, Ross Butcher, Siegel C. Webster, Rev. Ernest Lowderman, Charles Rippetoe and Clarence Kipling.
Mrs. Dark was born March 30, 1866 at Brooklyn, Ill., to John and Lucinda Willey Curtis and had lived in Colchester 33 years. She was married March 18, 1884, to Thomas Campbell Dark, deceased. Mrs. Dark was a member of the Methodist church. Surviving are four sons and three daughters, Ross, Sam and Russell Dark and Clementine Huston, all of Colchester, Mrs. Jessie Dunsworth and Dwight Dark of Macomb, Ill., and Mrs. Beulah Butler of Paris, Ill. A brother and two sisters, Charles Curtis, Mrs. Mae Dorsett and Mrs. Hattie Vance, all of Macomb, 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive. Two children, Doris ( was 2 when died of Whooping Cough & Diptheria ) and Stella ( was 25 and died from the Spanish Flu ) , eight brothers and sisters, George, Arthur, Homer, Marion, Henry, Fred, Amanda Webster, and Billie Leas, are deceased.
The body will be removed from Jones mortuary to the home this afternoon, where friends may call until time of service.
