Virginia Key Taylor died in Norfolk on Aug. 7, 1999. She was 91.
A native of Norfolk, she had moved to Richmond in the late 1930's, and for many years was executive secretary to successive chairmen of the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Board. She returned to Norfolk five years ago.
She was the daughter of the late Cecilia Ashton and Richard C. Taylor. She is survived by her sister, Cecilia A. Taylor. Her sisters, Sally P.T. Abeles and Elizabeth T. Little, predeceased her. She is survived by four nieces, Conrad L. Paulus, Cecilia T. Hickerson, Eliza L. Woodward and Lydia C. Taylor, and by four nephews, Charles C. Abeles, J. Hume Taylor Jr., Peter Little and Richard T. Little. One niece, Sally A. Gran, predeceased her.
Private burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Norfolk. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Taylor Sisters Memorial Fund, c/o The Norfolk Foundation, 1410 NationsBank Center, Norfolk, Virginia 23510 or to a charity of choice.
