Mineral Point - Anna Mae Schaaf, age 88, of Mineral Point passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville after a short Illness. She was born in Lost Grove on June 20, 1923, the daughter of Frank and Catherine (Mick) Berg. She married LaVern Schaaf on September 21, 1944 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mineral Point. Anna Mae and LaVern were lifelong farmers on the family farm until retiring to Mineral Point in 1983. She was a member of St. Mary's - St. Paul's Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, and the CCW. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Anna Mae is survived by her six sons, Ken, Norb (Cindy) and Eugene (Deb) all of Mineral Point, Wayne (Chris) of Detroit, MI, Bill (Deb) of Geneseo, IL, and Bert (Libby) of Menasha; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, and a brother-in-law Bernie Kieffer of Mineral Point. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband LaVern, a brother Michael Berg, a sister Josephine Kieffer, two great-grandchildren Drew and Owen Schaaf, and a granddaughter-in-law Lella Schaaf.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Ss. MARY & PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH. Fr. James Hinnen will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery. A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2012 from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at the GORGEN FUNERAL HOME in Mineral Point.
