FLORENCE KEPLER RITES MAY 21
Florence Trego was born October 27, 1881 in Nodaway County, Missouri and came to Phillips County in 1888 with her parents* who established a homestead northwest of Holyoke. She attended Phillips County schools and taught in the country schools, later working in the office of the County Treasurer. She married Leon Kepler August 28, 1906. Three children were born to this union. They made their home in Holyoke until 1915 when they moved to Big Springs, Nebraska, then moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, returning to Holyoke in 1930. This was her home until she went to Fort Collins in 1969 to live with her daughters.
After a brief illness she died in the Poudre Valley Memorial Hospital May 18, 1979. Her husband preceded her in death in 1963. She is survived by a son Glen Kepler, Big Springs, Nebraska; two daughters, Laura Scheneman and Lucy Rumble, Fort Collins; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was a member of the Methodist Church from her youth, giving leadership in many areas of the church, especially in the Women organizations. During her years in Holyoke she was a member of United Methodist Women, Sorosis Club, Sunshine Club, Community Club, and Golden Age group.
Services were held Monday, May 21, 1979, at the United Methodist Church in Holyoke. Interment was in Holyoke Memorial Park, where four generations of her family are buried.
