Daughter of Flora (Nelson) and Edward Edwardson. As a toddler, Florence was nicknamed "Poochie", and her brothers called her that all their lives.
Florence attended grade school at a one room schoolhouse at Edgemere, Idaho, where her teacher was Leolla Tucker, who later married Florence's brother Keith. Florence and younger brother Delbert rode a horse to school. Florence graduated from Athol (Idaho) High School in 1937, and then attended Youngblood's Beauty School in Moscow, Idaho. There she met her husband, Floyd.
Their children, Sharon and Larry, were born at home on a farm near Moscow, Idaho. The family moved to Portland, OR, during World War II where Floyd worked at the shipyards until he was called to active service in the Army and sent overseas. After the war they returned to Pullman, WA. Son Vaun Keith was born at Moscow in 1947 but lived only four days. They spent the remainder of the 1940's in the Pullman/Moscow area then moved to Spokane in the early 1950's. Florence worked for many years at the Spokane Hotel.
After Floyd's death in 1996, she went to live with daughter Sharon in Georgia, where she died from complications from alheizmer's disease.
She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. After she died, many said they had never, ever heard her say an unkind word about another person. A truly great tribute to a kind and loving woman.
