Ruth Thornton Collier, 96 of Jesup died Friday, March 24, 2017 after an extended illness. The Wayne County native was a Baptist and homemaker. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Woodrow David Collier; a daughter, Judy Worsham Rogers; parents, John and Ida Thornton; sister, Bonnie Thornton and brothers, Tet and Grady Thornton.
Survivors are a daughter, Kris Phillips of Jesup; son, David (Jan) Collier of Jesup; son-in-law, John Rogers of Jesup; sisters-in-law, Lois Thornton of Jesup, Eldora Collier of Emerson; grandchildren, Kelly Meiler, Katie Beasley, Paul Brannen, Warren Collier, Sabrina Collier, Perry Worsham, Lee Worsham, Andrew Worsham and Jackie Erickson ; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be 11 A.M. Monday, March 27, 2017 at Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Stanley Todd officiating.
The family will receive friends at the cemetery.
