Our wonderful mother, Ruby Ilean Berg Arnesen, 79, of Salt Lake City, died January 27, 1995.
Born August 9, 1915, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Gustave Edward and Agnes Andersen Berg. Married Aksel M. Arnesen in 1936. Served in many LDS Church callings; taught Primary, Relief Society; librarian, name extraction. Ruby worked many years to help support six children, retired for 17 years. President of Ladies Auxiliary of the Sons of Norway. She had many talents: artist, knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, and other handiwork.
Survived by: Husband, Aksel M. Arnesen, sons, Douglas M. (Carol) Arnesen, Alan H. (Echo) Arnesen, daughters, Judy Jensen, Karen (Mickey) Pomeroy, Ingrid Hudson, brothers, Nephi E. Berg, Harold M. Berg; sisters, Florence Jensen, Mae Horner. Ruby and Aksel have 30 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a daughter, Ilean (Richard) Deegan, sisters, Agnes Kimball, Jennie Mattengly.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 31, 1995, 2 p.m. at the Taylorsville 4th Ward, 4310 South 3200 West. Friends may call Monday, 6 to 8 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road, and Tuesday, one hour prior to services at the church. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
