Walker died Dec 7 1959. The Rev. A. N. Tiller, pastor of The First Methodist church, officiated at the service. Burial after the service at Oakwood Cemetery, Jefferson, Texas. Mrs. Walker was the last of the five brothers and sisters of the James Arnold Bass Family. She was born in Carrolton, GA, March 22, 1878 and came to Texas as a young woman, where she conducted a highly successful millinery business for a number of years at various places in Texas.She made numerous trips to St. Louis during the time when hat-making business was a popular venture in little shops and homes to study styles. Her husband, the late N. B. Walker, was a funeral director at Beeville for a number of years, preceded her in death 2 years ago. Mrs.
Walker came to Jefferson approximately 18 years ago to make her home with her brother, the late Paul L. Bass and his wife, Mattie, where she was residing at the time of her death. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Jefferson.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Mrs. Mattie Bass, Leon Bass, nephew & Milton K. Bass, great nephew.
Pallbearers were Elmer Jones, Ed Taylor, Luke Walker, Herman Morrow, Dr. A. J. Woods, Henry Carter & Kirby Beauchamp.
