Walter Victor Bass, 85, died Monday evening,July 15, 1958 following a lengthy illness. Mr. Bass came to make his home with his brother, the late Paul L. Bass and his sister, Mrs. Maud Walker, about 10 years ago after the death of his wife, Mrs. Florella Swint Bass in Atlanta, Georgia.
Funeral services were held in Jefferson from the Haggard Funeral Chapel with the Rev. A. N., Tiller officiating.
Pallbearers were Luke Walker, Robert Williams, R. C. Connor, Kirby Beauchamp, Jesse DeWare and Elmer Jones. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. J. M. DeWare, Dr. W. S. Terry and other friends of the family.
The body was sent by train to Atlanta, Ga. for burial at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta, GA. Leon Bass and James Thomas Bass accompanied their uncle's remains. A funeral service was scheduled for July 17, 1958 at 10 A. M. in Atlanta, GA.
