~0bit~LeRoy "Roy" Petro, 91, a retired farmer and a long-time resident of Urbana, died on Wednesday night at People's Memorial in Independence, Iowa, following a long illness. Born July 8, 1891, in Brown County, Indiana, he was married to Beulah Rosencrans on February 28, 1922, at Rowley. Mrs. Petro died November 9, 1969, at Vinton. Mr. Petro was married to Mary Ann Dietz on August 15, 1974, at Urbana. Mr. Petro served overseas with the Army during World War I. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and was a charter member of both Walter Meyocks American Legion Post 264 and the Urbana Lions Club. Survivors in addition to his wife, Mary, include a son, Vernon L. of Chicago, Illinois; and two sisters, Mrs. Leo Liebesch of Urbana and Mrs. Leona Taylor of Cedar Rapids. Services: 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Urbana, by the Revs. John Caldwell and Richard L. Ludden. Burial: Urbana Cemetery, where the American Legion will conduct military services. Friends may call at the Murdoch Chapel, Center Point, after 3 p.m. today.
