Jeanne B. "Jeannie" Shidler, 76, of Kansas City, Kan., passed away July 12, 2009. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2009, at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 N.E. Antioch Road, Gladstone, Mo. Burial to follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Jeannie was born September 12, 1932, in Denison, Texas, to James W. and Blanche (Grant) Tipton. She was a teacher for 25 years and spent most of those years in the Kansas City, Kansas School District. She loved to garden and was very creative with crafts of all kind. She also loved to read her Bible. Jeannie enjoyed traveling with her husband, and they eventually made it to all 50 states. Jeannie loved music and was a member of the "Friends of the Symphony". She is preceded into death by her parents and one son, Steven Thomas Krasick. Jeannie is survived by her husband, John R. Shidler of the home; children Michael Paul Krasick of San Bruno, Calif., Jonathon Edward Krasick of Lawrence, Kan., Julie Ann Krasick of Kansas City, Kan., Karen Sue Edison of Rogers, Ark., Kathy Kay Ellis of Wakarusa, Kan., Carol Jean Colboch of Lenexa, Kan., Christine Louise Sanchez of Kansas City, Mo., John Robert Shidler of McKinney, Texas, and Constance Lynn Shidler of Overland Park, Kan.; brothers James Tipton of Bosque Farms, N.M., David Tipton of Sophia, N.C., and Richard Tipton of Stockton, Calif.; 21 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
