Lee Schwarzel died at the Citizens' hospital at 6:30 o'clock last evening. He had recently been operated upon for goitre.
Mr. Schwarzel was born in Chilicotha, Ohio, July 29,1861. He came to Aspen in 1887.
He was a sign writer and painter of ability.
He is survived by a wife, three daughters, Mrs. Corrine Gimple of Clifton, Colorado; Mrs. Lucille Rhoades of Pueblo, and Miss Leola Schwarzel; and a son, Harold J. Schwarzel.
Funeral services will be conducted at the family home 123 West Francis street, at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon by Rev. Ross.
Interment will be in Red Butte cemetery under direction of Undertaker Beall.
A host of friends will learn of Mr. Schwarzel's death with sincere regret and will extend heartfelt sympathy to the stricken family.
