Marie Bennett Brose, 83, died Thursday, December 29, 2011, at Rest Haven, York. She was the wife of the late Carroll E. Brose.

Mrs. Brose was born on July 22, 1928, in Roanoke, Va., a daughter of the late Walter F. and Mamie (Radar) Bennett. She retired as a packager after 20 years for the former AMP Inc. in Shrewsbury. She was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church and served as their former church pianist. She was a faithful supporter of the S.P.C.A.

She leaves one son, Tim M. Brose and his wife, Linda of New Freedom; three grandchildren; and a sister, Evelyn Herbert of Stewartstown. She was predeceased by a son, Stephen B. Brose, and seven siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at New Bethel Baptist Church, 18954 Ridge Meadow Road, Stewartstown, with her pastor, Blane E. Vannoy, officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. There will be no viewing. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, is in charge of the arrangements.
