BOONSBORO - Ruth N. (Beans) Smith, 78, of Boonsboro, died Friday, July 10, 2009, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Oct. 2, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Raymond C. and Mary M. (Pryor) Beans.
Mrs. Smith formerly was employed by AirPax in Frederick, Md., where she worked for 18 years.
She was a member of Grossnickle Church of the Brethren in Myersville, Md.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband of 60 years, G. Glenn Smith; two daughters, Glenna M. and her husband, Robert Moncrief, of Boonsboro, and Carol Ann and her husband, James Brown, of Frederick; one son, Ricky Lee Smith and his wife, Donna, of Charles Town, W.Va.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Ruth was preceded in death by one sister, Rosa Michael.
Services will be Monday, July 13, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. Pastor Tim Ritchey Martin will officiate. Interment will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.
Friends are invited to visit the funeral home Sunday, July 12, anytime after 9 a.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
