Edsel proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and earned the rank of Master Sergeant, 98th Bombardment Group, 415th Bombardment Squadron. He attended Mt. Lebanon Primitive Baptist Church in Durham.
Edsel enjoyed music throughout his entire life and was an accomplished musician and extraordinary fiddler. He was a young 13 year old when he played the fiddle at his first square dance.
Edsel is survived by his two sisters, Katherine Terry Mangum of Bahama, NC; Elizabeth Terry Henderson of Mt. Pleasant, SC; his double first cousin, Mary Ruth Terry Mebane of Hillsborough; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ramie B. Terry; his son, Stephen B. Terry; four brothers, William Samuel Terry, Robert Malcom Terry, John Roland Terry, and Joseph Wyatt Terry, and one sister, Mrs. Rosa Belle Terry Walker..
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, December 31, at Mt. Lebanon Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Bobby Daughtry presiding. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.
